Mark your calendar: Genevieve Konopka visit in June

Our group is delighted to announce that Genevieve Konopka, who played a prominent role in the discovery of the FOXP2 interactome, will be visiting us next month.

On Monday, June 16, at 4pm, she will be giving a talk, "Decoding the molecular evolution of cognition", in the Sala de Professores (Josep Carner building, 5th floor).

Attendance is free, as usual.

Presentations 

There will be two BIB presentations at the 11th International Conference on General Linguistics (Pamplona, May 21-23):

• La evolución del language-ready brain: un primer paso en la aparición de los sistemas linguísticos (Boeckx and Benítez-Burraco)
• From the language-ready brain to full-fledged linguistic systems (Boeckx, Leivada, Martins, and Benítez-Burraco)

 

Martins at the Café Científic

Pedro Martins will be one of the discussants at the "Café Científic: Què és allò que ens fa humans? [What makes us human?]", along with David Comas and Mara Dierssen. This event is organized by students at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and it will take place on May 22 (19h30), at the Teatreneu in Barcelona (C/ Terol 26). Entrance is free.
